Outline
Situated in Royallieu, next to the South Compiègne cemetery and near the Senlis road, this cemetery, measuring 11,527 m², was built by France in 1921. It is on the site of the military cemetery created by French Hospital No. 16 (1918).
It contains 3,257 bodies, of which 264 in ossuaries. There are also the graves of 81 British soldiers (26 of which haven’t been identified), 11 Russian, 1 Belgian (who died on 21st July 1917), 1 German (in one of the ossuaries) and 3 French killed in the Second World War.
